detour to Vantage, Quincy and Wenatchee, Washington

Rode along Scenic SR 2 from Cashmere to Monroe
Going through Stevens Pass (Brrrr....)
Including stops in Leavenworth and Skykomish, Washington

SR 410 to Mount Rainier and Sunrise, Washington
And Paradise, Washington

Then on to Mount Saint Helens and Windy Ridge

An 844 mile ride around North Central Washington State
July 4th weekend, 2013

Suzy is all nice and shiny and ready for another adventure. Looks like it's
going to be a good weather weekend.



Met the Dilligafs at Multnomah Falls. Ran I-84 to The Dalles and North through
Goldendale, Washington.



Then on to Toppenish, Washington.











And on to Ellensburg, Washington.





Those were the days. A 15 gallon fill-up for $3.25....



Naturally, the Dilligafs can't resist a bargain.



I had already missed the turn for SR 97 by this time and wound up in Vantage,
Washington, 30 miles in the wrong direction. It was an interesting side trip
though. Here's a shot of the Columbia River crossing.



There aren't that many people out this way (but more than I expected). Areas
like this in Eastern Oregon would be pretty desolate.





The Rock Island Dam not far from Wenatchee, Washington.

Next stop, Cashmere, Washington.
