Fairview, Oregon is right on the Gilliam/Sherman County line.
Here's pictures of an old, abandoned homestead on
Starvation Lane, Gilliam County, Fairview, Oregon.
Momma hawk had a nest in one of the trees on this property. She was screeching
and generally not thrilled with our presence. We took a few pictures and hit the
road.
It's a long way to town so a lot of these old homesteads have their own fuel
storage tanks and dispensing controls. Pretty common on rural farms but this
is the first time we have seen them installed on residential lots.
